Hi I'm new here.

I know that LUM meets at Sat from 4pm-8pm, but I'll need a little help finding the place. I haven't been to the LU campus before so if I could get some directions or a map that'd be awesome. I'll be there tomorrow (Sat Sept 26) either way.

I've been in Tbay for almost 3 weeks now attending Confederation and have been having trouble finding anyone into anime. In my frustration I tried Google and finally found out about this place.

This university may not be as dry as it seems. There may be a lot of people who just don't talk about anime, or are scared to let other people know they like it.

I also think it's just that a lot of people get less into anime as they get older, so they're less open about it if they are still into it. There is still a bit of a stigma around liking anime because most people see anime as either Sailor Moon-ish romance or Dragonball Z style action, or americanized - Inuyasha style juvenility. It's hard when people don't understand that there are way more options (and even styles) out there.

I had almost given up on it because I was having a hard time finding stuff that interested me.

Hello Ben, Nice to meet you.

I'm going to assume that you were the person that was on the website earlier at LUM. Unfortunately this forum is coming down in the next few days when the site gets revamped so you will need to re-register D:

Hopefully students will have a little more free time to come out this year. We also created this website for LUM that will be updated with the anime and episode we watched at the club.

I just got back from a LUM meeting, not really knowing anyone, and I forgot the 3 names of the people who actually introduced themselves, so....

My name is Ben
I'm 21 and from Sault Ste Marie. I've never been to ANY cons, but then I'm only casually into anime.
Series I like are: Elfen Lied, FLCL, Eva, Paradise Kiss, and Hellsing.
I've seen others, but these are the ones that I've watched over and over.

I draw in a sort of anime-ish style although most of my projects remain half finished.

I went to one session/meeting/whatever last year, but then had to quit because first year engineering was being a pregnant dog.

I guess that's it.
